Market Research

By ArcPM

Market research is the gathering and analysis of information about a market — its customers, demand, trends, and competitors — to reduce uncertainty in product and business decisions.

Market research spans the size and shape of demand, who the customers are, what alternatives exist, and where the market is heading. It can be qualitative (interviews) or quantitative (data), and the best decisions use both.

Its value is not the report but the decisions it de-risks. Research that does not change what you build is overhead; research tied to a decision is leverage.

Example

Before entering a niche, a team sizes the demand and maps existing tools — learning the audience is underserved on price, not features.

How ArcPM applies it

ArcPM turns market research into traceable evidence that informs product discovery, requirements and product decisions throughout the Connected Product Graph.
