Product Strategy

By ArcPM

Product strategy is the high-level plan that connects a product vision to execution — who you serve, what problem you solve, how you will win, and what you deliberately will not do.

Strategy is a set of choices, and choices imply sacrifice: a strategy that tries to serve everyone and do everything is not a strategy. Clarity about what you will not do is as important as what you will.

A good product strategy makes day-to-day prioritization easier, because it gives a stable test — "does this move us toward how we win?" — that outlasts any single feature debate.

Example

A team decides to win on connected, traceable planning for solo builders — and explicitly not to compete on being a general chat assistant.

How ArcPM applies it

ArcPM keeps strategy, research, and requirements connected in one graph, so high-level choices stay linked to the evidence and the concrete plan that carry them out.
