Product-Market Fit
Product-market fit is the state in which a product satisfies strong demand in a market — customers adopt it, keep using it, and recommend it — indicating the product is solving a real problem for real people.
Before fit, growth is a grind and retention leaks; after fit, demand pulls the product forward. It is felt as much as measured, but retention and organic referral are the clearest signals.
Fit is not permanent — markets and expectations shift. Reaching it is a discovery problem: understand the users and the job well enough that the product becomes the obvious choice.
A common signal of product-market fit is when users say they would be very disappointed if the product disappeared.
ArcPM front-loads the discovery that fit depends on — cited research, personas, and validated requirements — so the plan is aimed at a real, evidenced problem from the start.
